Supergiant Games to bring ‘Pyre’ as its third game

With just two games to their name, Bastion in 2011 and Transistor in 2014, the 2009 established Supergiant Games has created a stronghold in the gaming industry. Its first release, Bastion which was distributed exclusively by Warner Bros. in Xbox Live Arcade gathered immense critical praises and even managed to garner numerous awards . The next release, Transistor, released in 2014, was almost equally praised.

After its radiant success in previous projects, Supergiant Games is all set to come up with the new game ‘Pyre’. It will be a party based role playing game where the player has to lead a band of exiles through the mystical alleys and an ancient competition to gain redemption. According to the story, the player is to team up with a group of exiles and look for an ancient competition, which can purge the exiled ones from all their transgression and show them the path to go back home. The game promises fast paced action and chic ambience.

The trailer of Pyre released by Supergiant Games is already making rounds. The clip gives glimpses of the gameplay and a feel of the game environment. The background score In the Flame lent vocals from Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett blends perfectly with the trailer’s visuals and brings life to the mystical trailer of the magical lands.

The game is likely to be released over Steam and PlayStation 4 at the same time, somewhere around 2017. Just like the previous games, Bastion and Transistor made their way into iOS a year after they were released on Xbox Live Arcade; Pyre might also be on the same lines, although nothing has been officially revealed yet. Overall, the game looks great. Crisp character detailing, clean and tastefully designed world and what looks like an interesting storyline highlights the game. Rest, only time will tell, but till then at least we know, “Exile is not the end.”
