As was planned Nintendo-DeNA tie-up was supposed to launch the first of its smartphone/tablet games before the year ended. We are currently in the middle of the October, so an announcement coming soon is no big surprise.

With the demise of former president Satoru Iwata the plans haven’t slowed down for the company, and DeNA’s partnership with Nintendo is “really long-term initiative” stated Asako at Gamesbeat 2015.

Mario Kart producer Hideki Konno will be on the forefront with the new Nintendo smartphone games and them not being in the mobile game race has led them to fall in the rankings of top 100 brands in the world.

Not only mobile games, Nintendo has its hands full with Wii U successor codenamed NX and are also expanding the portfolio of its brands through a deal with Universal Theme Parks and may license its characters for movies.
