Neverland was never closer as Disney’s next live action movie to be adapted from animated classic ‘Peter Pan’

Disney is not going to abandon its trend of bringing their animated classics to life with live action movies. As The Jungle Book has already hit the theatres, it has been revealed that Disney is indeed working on their next live action movie which will be an adapted version of their very own 1953 animated classic from J.M. Barrie’s novel, Peter Pan.

peter panAccording to reports, the movie will be directed by David Lowery, produced by Jim Whiteker and scripted by Toby Halbrooks. Lowery and Halbrooks had already joined hands together for another Disney remake,
Pete’s Dragon, which is a new version of Disney’s very own 1977 live musical. Pete’s Dragon is scheduled to release on 12 August, 2016.

This will be Disney’s take on bringing Peter Pan into live action from their 1953 animated classic. Previously many studios have tried their hands on the same, but none of them could woo the audience, be it Steven Spielberg’s Hook or Joe Wright’s Pan.

Disney seems to be hitting the perfect spot by bringing the animated classics to life with live action movies. The immense success of Cinderella, Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland at the box office stand strong as a testimony to it.

This movie will be another feather on Disney’s live action movie department run by Sean Bailey. So far, Disney has done justice to almost all of their live action movies which were adapted from animated classics, we hope they do the same with the ageless boy from the Neverlands.
