Johnny Depp and Edgar Wright combo in an upcoming animated/live-action movie

The live action Pirate star, Johnny Depp, is in talks to be seen in Edgar Wright’s upcoming live action and animation film. The movie is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s children’s book Fortunately, The Milk which was published in September 2014.

The studio behind The Lego Movie, Animal Logic Entertainment will be producing the movie with Zareh Nalbandian from the studio as the producer. The movie will be penned by Bret McKenzie, known for his musical comedy Flight of the Concords.

Fortunately, The Milk

As the plot of the film is still under the veil, the film will be a blend of live-action and animation. It seems to be a normal trip to buy some milk that soon turns into an interesting feral outrageous adventure. Gaiman’s children’s book is described as “a story of time travel and breakfast cereal.” It starts out with a father who goes to the store to buy some milk and returns with wild tales of aliens, space-time travel, pirates and more. One passage of the book reads: “I bought the milk,” said my father. “I walked out of the corner shop, and heard a noise like this: t h u m m t h u m m. I looked up and saw a huge silver disc hovering in the air above Marshall Road.” I said to myself, “Hullo, that’s not something you see every day. And then something odd happened.” Now what is that something odd, is what we need to wait for!

Gaiman’s previously-adapted Coraline was also animated and turned out to be the best adaptation of his work till date. With Johnny Depp’s extravagant character, eminent body language and fascinating dialogue delivery, surely his presence in this film is looked forward for. And this film might turn out to be the strangest movie ever with a master combination of Edgar Wright, Neil Gaiman and the beloved Johnny Depp. The film is in early negotiations to be acquired by Fox and Depp might just also be interested to be one of the producers.
