GSN Games India kick starts a bigger and better game development studio in Bangalore

GSN Games, a worldwide leader in social casino games and cash tournaments, just announced the opening of a new Bangalore studio to accommodate talent and business growth. The office space located in a premier technology park has the capacity to support more than 500 employees across multiple teams.

The new facility will position GSN Games India to lead game development and product management for some of the most well known social casino apps, including Bingo Bash and GSN Casino. Additionally, it will play a major role in building a leading-edge technology environment powering the global company directly from Bangalore. The new studio is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and tools such as modern workspaces, game lounges and stocked kitchens, as well as health and wellness facilities including an indoor badminton court.

DSC05747“The new GSN Games India office represents our commitment to growing our studio by recruiting top talent to lead game development and product management for GSN Games,” said GSN Games India, country manager, Arun Dutta. “We are one of the only studios from leading western game developers that drive game development from start to finish in India, as the GSN global team looks to India for game creation rather than simple execution.”

Congratulating GSN Games India on the new studio, NASSCOM Gaming, forum head, Shruti Verma said, “As a significant force in the region’s games industry, it is exciting to see GSN’s talented India-based team at the helm of industry-leading mobile games for players around the world. Unveiling this studio demonstrates to both aspiring and established game developers that India’s vibrant games community is growing and driving innovation on a global stage.”

Commenting on the office opening, COO, GSN, Steve Brunell said, “This outstanding new space symbolises our ambitious plans to grow the studio to further leverage our remarkable team in Bangalore, which has proven itself to be among the most innovative social casino studios in the world. GSN Games is committed to recruiting, retaining and developing top-tier Indian talent, while providing the tools for our teams to advance in their careers with us and create groundbreaking social casino games.”

Founded in 2010 as Bash Gaming and acquired by GSN Games in 2014, GSN Games India maintains an entrepreneurial culture that is true to its startup heritage while being owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and AT&T Entertainment Group. Over the past five years, the studio created Bingo Bash and grew it into the world’s #1 social bingo game[1]. Bingo Bash remains one of the highest grossing mobile games ever developed in India.

Update:

AnimationXpress’ Krishanu Ghosal got in touch with GSN Games India’s recently appointed country manager, Arun Dutta who shed some light on the studio and the company’s future plans and endeavours.

He informed that the new studio is well equipped with health and wellness features like an indoor badminton court, bike café and kitchens on each floor. Apart from that, adding up to the company’s gaming essence, the office also sports brand new video game lounges, ping pong, snooker and foosball tables.

On being asked about the company’s endeavours in the new studio, Dutta said that the company is not only working towards the support of their hugely popular Bingo Bash by adding new bingo rooms, game mechanics and seasonal themes to the game on a consistent, frequent basis but are also managing GSN Casino and driving broader casino projects and developing new games for global audiences.

Dutta also asserted that, “GSN Games India is a one-of-kind mobile game development studio that stands in stark contrast to other large games companies in the area. GSN Games’ USA teams look up to GSN Games India to lead and make games, instead of simply executing them.”

He explained that they are currently managing GSN Casino and has helped grow Video Bingo, a major franchise within GSN Casino. The team is pushing the edge on mobile technology and engineering – building and shipping games in Unity, as well as creating cross-platform connectivity between web and mobile.
