Comic Con India organized Dota 2 LAN gaming tournament at Gear Up in the city and set the stage for the Mumbai Film and Comic Con 2014.
“We had a great turn out for our Dota 2 tournament with over 20 teams! It was certainly exciting to see so many gamers over today!” said, Comic Con India Founder, Jatin Verma.
“Gaming is becoming a big part of our events and we plan to increase our commitment to this at upcoming Mumbai Film & Comic Con, with exclusive gaming areas for LAN & Console Gaming!” he added.
Dota 2 is set up as an epic battle that takes place over the course of about an hour-long game. The tournament takes place between certain teams. Each player takes control of one hero, and the teams fight it out across the battlefield with the help of computer controlled units and structures until one side destroys their opponents.
Youngsters enjoyed a lot in this multiplayer online battle. The ones winning were moving up the ladder and later on 3 teams were declared as winners. The Winning team of the Dota 2 Lan Gaming Tournament was rewarded with the amount of Rs 5000. Rests of the two runners up teams were rewarded with Rs 3000 & Rs 1000 respectively.
“It feels awesome to have won the 1st prize for an event organised by Comic Con India,” said Team leader of the first prize winning team, Darshan Joshi.
Dota is largely attributed to being the most significant inspiration for the multiplayer online battle arena genre. People were amused by this form of entertainment and requested to organize this Gaming Tournament every year.
