The creators of the animated feature Yellowbird (2014), TeamTO Studio is set to open a new production facility in southern France. The new studio will cover around 11,000 sq ft in Bourg-les-Valence. Also, the new outlet will double the current capacity of TeamTO’s Paris office and will accommodate 60 per cent of the company’s entire 380-person staff.
TeamTO studio has become the largest indie animation player in the French market and has maintained its ‘French touch’ by growing its facilities within France itself. The new studio will aim at increasing the CGI production of the studio and creating original content to expand its hold on the market. Also, the studio will focus on international audience for digital feature length content.
This year the studio celebrates its 10th anniversary as a toon production house, having been founded in 2005 by Guillaume Hellouin, Corinne Kouper and Caroline Souris. The animation team which started with a handful of people has been growing till date. The studio has been able to expand into other areas of technical expertise.
Its productions have been aired on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Chanel, as well as Netflix, France’s TF1 and Germany’s Super RTL. And with this new establishment, surely the future of French Animation is on the success ladder.
