Facebook ready for a future breakdown

Social media company Facebook is secretly preparing for an all out war against another internet giant Google, if the need arises ever. According to a report by The Information, Facebook has been secretly preparing contingency measures to allow its apps to operate on Android phones without going through Google’s app store.

No there is no war brewing between the two mammoths, but Facebook is making itself future ready if ever a situation arises where Google wants to control apps on its operating system Android. Currently Facebook is dependent on Google and Android for distribution of its software through millions of handsets.

According to the report, in past it even tested users by crashing its app on Android for hours, to check the loyalty of its users, and the results were not bad. Users still logged onto Facebook sitting through these errors or through web browsers but would not give-up on the social media site.

Facebook also experimented by allowing users to download its app directly through the social media site without the help of Google Play Store and people did test out these ideas giving encouraging signs to Facebook. It is also has plans to approach telecom wireless carriers to preload Facebook’s app which is specially built Android software onto phones. Even go to an extent of developing an app store of its own which would be independent of Android but instead be a rival to Google.

A bold but a calculated move by Facebook will not only give executives at Google nightmares if such thing ever happens but Android will be a battleground with each company going out to win soldiers for their sides.
