With political games doing really well in the country, Digital Agents has come up with a game around the viral campaign ‘Muffler Man’ and wanted to further show how a common man can be a hero just like Superman to remove the corruption from the country.
Muffler Man has a faceless hero who fights corruption jumping from levels to levels. An endless jumper, the levels get generated randomly and if you collect three brooms you will have a super flight skipping levels in the game.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com; Digital Agents, founder, Mohit Ramani explained how the game idea came about. “We were in talks with AAP for Muffler Man, with the campaign also going viral on social media, we wanted to showcase Muffler Man as some sort of a superhero like He-Man or Superman, who will save the country and get rid of corruption.”
Digital Agents wanted to voluntarily work on the game and only approached the Aam Aadmi Party to showcase what work they had done and get the approval before the game was published. Mohit revealed: “When we showed AAP what we had in mind they were ok as their Muffler Man campaign was in-sync with the game’s storyline. We kept thinking of ideas and came across a number of games like Bomber Man and Doodle Jump, but we finalised the latter’s gameplay for the game.”
The game was prepared in a week’s time using the Unity engine and the studio is preparing to release further updates. “We had 7 people working on the game and everyone was working round the clock to finish the game on time. We presented the game to AAP on 20 December and said we’ll voluntarily help the party with the game and the campaign. We launched the game on New Year’s eve.”
The game is currently only available on Android, but the studio plans to release the iOS and Windows version soon. The further updates will have responsive backgrounds where in a player sitting in Mumbai will have Gateway of India as a background, a player in Kolkata will have Howrah Bridge and people in Delhi will see India Gate. Also, other updates will have power-ups and obstacles to add a little difficulty to the game as the game progresses further.
