Former Netflix EMEA director Alexi Wheeler announced the creation of his new UK-based production company, Wheel In Motion. This new venture marks a significant development as it joins Superprod Group, establishing a strong presence for the conglomerate within the UK market.

With a career spanning over two decades, Wheeler most recently spent five years at Netflix where his last role was leading animated series for EMEA. Before Netflix, he served as Nickelodeon International’s production and development vice president.

He has contributed to the success of iconic shows such as Peppa Pig, Big Tree City, Sharkdog, The Last Bus, Zero Chill, and Heartstopper. His film portfolio is equally impressive, featuring work on Academy nominated Robin Robin and Chicken Run 2.

Wheel In Motion is set to develop an array of new shows and movies targeting diverse audiences, encompassing both animation and live-action genres. Wheeler expresses his enthusiasm for his collaboration with Superprod Group co-founders Clement Calvet and Jeremie Fajner. He regards Superprod as “one of the very best studios in the world right now” and believes that “the timing is perfect for a new and dynamic production company that is able to move with the times, deliver on audience needs, and to establish a bold and exciting new slate of content.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Alexi and Wheel In Motion into the Superprod family. This partnership embodies our commitment to expanding our creative reach and supporting exceptional talent across the globe. Alexi’s vision for Wheel In Motion complements our mission to produce innovative and diverse content that resonates with both kids, YA and family audiences worldwide,” said Superprod Group founders Clement Calvet and Jérémie Fajner.

Wheel In Motion not only promises to invigorate the UK’s creative industry but also aims to make a substantial impact on the global entertainment landscape.
