As the month of February is around the corner, here are our pick of game releases that will see the light of day in February 2021:
Habroxia 2 (3 February): In the aftermath of a brutal attack on Free Space, humanity sends scout ships to the star system that was at the source of the assault. But when one of the pilots doesn’t return home, it’s up to his daughter — the talented starpilot Sabrina — to find him. Habroxia 2 is a non-linear, old-school space shooter with upgrades, boss fights, and even New Game+, all wrapped in a retro package combining pixel graphics, chiptunes, and stellar gameplay.

Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition (5 February )- Experience the thrill of taking on hordes of fearsome yokai in a battle to the death in this brutal masocore Action RPG. Create your own original protagonist and embark on an adventure that will take you through devastated locales across Japan during the Sengoku period. Much like the previous title which garnered much praise from fans and critics alike, Nioh 2 contains an original profound story surrounding military commanders from the Sengoku period. However, Nioh 2 goes above and beyond its predecessor by including the new Yokai Shift ability which allows the protagonist to utilize new powerful forms to defeat even the most formidable yokai in battle. New to Nioh 2, your enemies can now create a Dark Realm which raises the stakes of battle and creates new challenges for your protagonist to overcome. We hope you enjoy conquering fearsome monsters as you unleash your darkness in the world of Nioh 2.

Cultist Simulator (2 February): Cultist Simulator is a card-based simulation video game developed by indie studio Weather Factory and published by Humble Bundle. Cultist Simulator is a narrative-driven simulation game that has the player take on the role of a citizen in a nameless society where their actions may lead to their creating a cultlike following. The game’s mechanics are presented as a combination of cards and action buttons. Cards represent a range of different elements: persons, attributes like health or reason, emotions, locations, items, wealth, lore, and others. With the Aspirant, the default choice of character, the player starts with two cards: a career and one health. To play, the player drops cards onto slots contained within the action buttons, then starts the action which triggers a timer. When complete, the player clicks the action, collecting played cards and additional rewards, which may be random or predetermined based on the action. The first action button is “Work”; placing their career card on this earns the player “Funds” cards.

Death Crown (11 February)- Death Crown is a minimalist real time strategy game in a 1bit style, where you will be play Death herself, commanding her legions of death, and punishing humanity’s Kingdom for its overconfidence. Everything is very simple: you only have barracks producing troops, mines producing gold, and towers protecting your buildings. Every building is integral to your success! Punishing pitiful humans in co-op with a friend is much more fun! And after that you can find out which one of you is cooler in the PVP mode. Upgrade your troops, march through your foe’s lands, sowing death and destruction, behold the fall of the Humanity’s Kingdom in the breathtaking campaign.

Little Nightmares 2 (11 February): Little Nightmares 2 (stylised as Little Nightmares II) is an upcoming puzzle-platformer horror adventure game. The game takes place sometime after Six escapes from the Maw. She meets Mono, a boy wearing a brown paper bag as a mask, and must work with him to navigate through a decaying metropolis called the Pale City, which is inhabited by deformed, television-addicted citizens, and to reach the Signal Tower, which is controlled by the mysterious Thin Man (who was previously seen in a TV screen at the end of the Secrets of the Maw DLC), who has influenced the city’s populace with his transmissions. Locations found throughout the Pale City include the Wilderness, the School, the Hospital, and the Signal Tower. There will also be new enemies and other characters to be discovered such as the Hunter (from whom Mono rescues Six at the start of the game), the Nomes, the Teacher, the Bullies, the Patients, the Living Hands, the Ghost, the Doctor, the Viewers, and the Thin Man himself.

Fallen Legion: Revenants (16 February): The world is covered in miasma, and the remnants of mankind have taken refuge in a floating castle ruled by a madman. Swap between the charismatic politician Lucien and the vengeful ghost Rowena, and make political maneuverings in the castle above as you fight off monsters in the wasteland.

Persona 5 Strikers (23 February): Persona 5 Strikers is a hack and slash role-playing video game. The game is a crossover between Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors franchise and Atlus’s 2016 role-playing game Persona 5 and is set six months after the events of the original Persona 5. It follows Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts as they investigate a series of mysterious events involving people across Japan. Persona 5 Strikers is a gameplay crossover between Koei Tecmo’s hack and slash Dynasty Warriors series, and Atlus’s role-playing game Persona series. It features elements from both franchises, such as the real-time action combat of the former with the turn-based Persona-battling aspect of the latter.

Cotton Reboot (25 February) Beep Japan will bring the reboot version of the 1991-released arcade game, Cotton entitled Cotton Reboot. Cotton is a shoot ’em up arcade game developed by Success in 1991. Now, it’s time for the classic arcade game to come back for the PS4 and Switch users with its upcoming reboot. Cotton Reboot! is an updated, remastered version of the classic and iconic “cute ’em up” Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams with brand new features and updated visual designs. The game also features three game modes that include the X68000 original mode that faithfully emulates Sharp’s personal computer from the 1993 version. Arrange mode features 16:9 screens, redesigned graphics and characters. In Score Attack mode the player competes for scores online within a limited time (two-minute and five-minute mode can be selected)

Wing of Darkness (25 February )- Wing of Darkness is a high-speed aerial action game bringing together the responsiveness of third-person shooting games with the fluidity and freedom from being airborne to bring an exhilarating experience like no other. This game is divided into two parts. The first part is an exhilarating, action-packed shooting game featuring the girls and their battles. The second part is made up of beautiful cutscenes featuring their everyday life and their struggle to overcome their differences. Experience the Fräulein from two contrasting aspects!

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (25 February )- WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is an upcoming first-person shooter game, The game continues in the tradition of 1990s first-person shooters like Doom, Blood, Hexen, and Quake; both thematically and in terms of fast-paced combat. To the classic first-person shooter formula, WRATH adds light role-playing elements. Players can collect items and skills to upgrade the Outlander’s abilities, which aid in exploration as well as combat. Rather than a linear progression of levels, the game features three hub-worlds for the player to explore, each with its own central theme. From the hubs players can access five levels (15 in total), each with a unique design based on the central hub theme. 3D Realms describes an “Open level design philosophy, where each level has multiple paths with all loop back into the main path to make each level feel more expansive.”Within individual levels, the player must battle through a plurality of enemies and bosses.
