MIPCOM 2015 witnesses the debut of Malaysia’s’ first creative industry digital app ‘KR8TIF EXPRESS’

The second day of MIPCOM 2015  saw The Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, Honourable Dato’ Jailani Johari together with the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) debuted Malaysia’s first creative industry digital app, ‘Kr8tif Express. This happened during the Creative Malaysia Networking Reception at Malaysian Pavilion.

One of the National Film Development Corporation’s (FINAS) objectives is to deliver effective communication and information on policies, programs, achievements of the government and promoting the country through various media channels to the public. Hence, FINAS and thDeputy Minister of Communications & Multimedia Malaysia at Turkish Pavilione Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM) took a step forward to accentuate the objective by creating the multi-platform digital app as an initiative to bring the latest information on feature film, TV, animation, games, music, licensing, publishing, and more as well as industry insights to both local and international key players.

The app that is dedicated to track the growth of the Malaysian creative industry shall allow the country to stay competitive on a global scale, and keep the stakeholders up-to-date on Malaysia’s achievements. The app will also update readers daily on Malaysian creative news, insightful creative subjects, new grants, deals and co-production agreements. Besides the news section, the app also features around-the-clock coverage during international and local creative festivals and events, native integration for social media sharing, exclusive interviews with key players, important figures and personalities in the business, as well as a dedicated industry vacancy section to help fresh- graduates and local talents find a job in the local and international creative companies.

Through the app, news on funds and government incentives can be easily communicated to both local and international productions, studios, producers and creative content creators which shall make Malaysia grow rapidly in the creative industry. The Honourable Dato’ Jailani Johari said that it was vital for them to go digital and develop a robust, fast and easily accessible news to everyone, even more so in a global arena where information is available with the click of a button. He also further mentioned that they were proud to introduce Malaysia’s first Creative Industry digital app that allowed them to stay competitive and keep their stakeholders stay abreast on industry news and achievements daily.
