Malaysia’s Animasia Studio has successfully licensed its animated series, ABC Monsters (26 episodes of 22 mins each) to NCircle Entertainment, a Texas-based company that specialises in the sales, marketing and distribution of quality pre-school and family entertainment content into major retailers in North America.
Recently in August, NCircle had released ABC Monsters Volume 1 DVD to major retailers throughout North America such as Walmart, Target, Toys’ R Us and more. Additionally, NCircle has planned to release the title across a digital platform via Hulu.
NCircle’s Content and Acquisitions, VP of Sales, Mary Flynn said, “We are excited to be expanding our catalogue of quality family programming with ABC Monsters, which appeal to our core audiences.” She added, “ABC Monsters is a terrific new series for little ones that presents early learning concepts in a fun and engaging way. Parents and kids have some great entertainment coming their way with this release!”
ABC Monsters introduces pre-schoolers to A-Z alphabets with fun vibrant characters and stories that make learning exciting. The series follows the adventure of Alice and her good friends Brian and Cherry Berry, who search high and low for one of the missing 26 cuddly ABC Monsters. If they go missing for longer than a day, all the letters will be wiped clean from every book in Capital Town. So, armed with their Magical Dictionary, the three friends follow letter related clues given to them by a host of characters that they meet along the way. They laugh, sing, and clap along as they discover just how much fun letters and words can be, while at the same time teaching children how to spell, show the meaning and background of each word.
Speaking at the Malaysian Pavilion in MIPCOM 2015, Edmund Chan, MD of Animasia Studio said, “We are very glad to be able to team up with NCircle Entertainment to bring ABC Monsters content into the North American market. It is definitely a big push for the ABC Monsters brand, and the beginning of a great venture together.”
That is not all, Genius Brands International (GBI), a global content and brand management company dedicated to providing entertaining and enriching ‘content with a purpose’ for its audiences, has acquired ABC Monsters from NCircle to be broadcasted on its new Kid Genius channel, debuting on Comcast’s ‘Xfinity On Demand’ service this fall.
The animation series that was funded and supported by the Malaysian government was a Top 30 Most Viewed Kids Programming at MIP Junior in 2007. Since then, it has been distributed to various European and Asian markets and signed multiple regional distribution deals.
