Shemaroo takes Indian Animation International with `Ghatothkach` at Cannes

null“Ghatothkach – Master of Magic” is 1st Indian Animaiton Feature to be promoted at Cannes Film Festival

Shemaroo Entertainment is setting a milestone for the Indian Animation Industry at the Cannes Film Festival with ‘Ghatothkach – Master of Magic’ which is the 1st Animated Feature Film from India that is being aggressively promoted at a world stage like Cannes Film Festival pre-release.

In what is a brilliant spectacle to any loyalist of Indian animation whose done the trade shows abroad and admired the international way of promoting properties, the good news is that Shemaroo is going full throttle with the promotion of the animated feature. The companys booth which showcases various products, is primarily focusing on Ghatothkach, with large wall sized posters, cut-outs and audio-visual promotions of Ghatothkach.

Hiren Gada, Vice President of Shemaroo Entertainment says, “We are looking to tap the potential new audiences in the International Market and promote â€?Ghatothkach – Master of Magicâ€? through innovative positioning. We are already seeing a lot of interest in the movie and hope to be able to create a wider global market for Indian animation”

Smita Maroo, Vice-President, Animation Division at Shemaroo Entertainment says, “We have gone all out with the promotions because we are convinced of the quality and beauty of â€?Ghatothkach – Master of Magicâ€?. The Indian animated movie is bound to leave a mark at Cannes and reach out to the Global Masses across miles”.

Ghatothkach – Master of Magic is India’s first feature-length 2D “Bollywood – Ishtyle” musical film for the entire family. The Story of Ghatothkach – son of Bhim and Hidimba – lovingly called “Ghattu” and his magical escapades, is an interesting chapter from India’s rich heritage. It is a story that has magic, action, romance, comedy, fantasy and is complete with foot-tapping songs.

From short films to feature films, Indian animation is shining bright across the horizon. Last year Gitanjali Rao’s exquisitely animated short film, Printed Rainbow was the cynosure of all eyes and that was a golden moment, and this year as the festival appreciates Ghatothkach, its a golden moment too. That too feature length!
