Arena Animation, an Animation, Web designing, VFX and Multimedia education arm of Aptech Ltd have launched its in-house incubation and outhouse production studio named Vedatma Animation Studio earlier this month on the eve of their 14th Year anniversary celebrations held at Khincha Auditorium, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore.
Vedatma Animation Studio, an initiative by Arena Animation, Malleswaram, Bangalore was launched with a two fold mission. Working as an in-house incubation centre mainly to bridge the gap between the students and the industry by providing industry ready training to students who are in their final semester or finished their course. Secondly, functioning as an outhouse production studio to provide new and innovative animated content to the entertainment sector.
The team at the studio include the Chief Mentor, Mr.Jagadeesh Gokhale having a vast experience of more than 12 years in various fields of animation and filmmaking ably supported by a team of skilled artists having fine arts background not to forget the student animators of Arena Animation, Malleswaram, Bangalore.
The setup of the in-house incubation studio is complete with all the departments exactly planned similar to a production setup so as to give the student animators a feel of how a production studio actually works. Whereas the outhouse production studio functions as a typical animation studio complete with all the functionalities on par with industry standards.
Speaking to Animationxpress.com’s Ishpreet Chandock, B.S.Srinivas says, “An interested student on reaching the completion or after finishing his academic education at Arena Animation Malleswaram, has to go through a small examination module, successful clearing of which, he/she is eligible to be absorbed as an incumbent and goes through a rigorous industry led training which include live projects, industry seminars and workshops, studio visits, internships etc., for a period of 3-6 months which prepares him/her to be easily recruited by the top animation studios.”
B.S.Srinivas, Director of Arena Animation- Malleswaram & Rajajinagar, Bangalore and CEO of Vedatma Animation Studios has been a pioneer in animation education in the country having started the same close to 15 years back and have contributed a huge number of skilled animators to the industry.
He states that they intend to bring rich and innovative animated content to the world never seen before on screen. Their aim is to present the characters and stories in a format which will be viewable and entertaining to people of all ages thereby squashing the myth that animated content is only restricted to kids.

Animation is the buzzword of the country today, and it is no wonder that animation as a career option has taken the front seat among the youth. Talking about the same he says,” Both 2D and 3D courses are in great demand today and we are seeing a huge increase in the number of aspiring animators and filmmakers among the youth of our country which is a hugely encouraging sign for the animation industry. Added to this, we are also seeing a huge demand for VFX and mobile gaming courses which promises us of a great future lying ahead.”
