Hyderabad based DQEL, one of the biggest Animation and Gaming Assets production players in the world has signed multiple co-production deals with several US and European companies at the recently concluded MIPCOM.
The company has between 20-25% stake in the Intellectual Properties of these deals while, the service production will bring additionally over $ 28 Mn to the company.
Speaking to Animation Xpress.com, DQE Chairman & Managing Director, Tapaas Chakravarti shared, “The order book for 2008 & 2009 at DQE is looking good. We have signed 10 TV series (3D, 2D & Flash) and one CG Feature Film (service production), out of which three TV series are going into production this year and rest all will go into production in the year 2007. We are absolutely delighted that almost 90% of these deals are large co-production deals including world famous properties like CASPER, the Friendly Ghost; LARGE FAMILY; IRON MAN and PINKY & PERKY”
It was announced during MIPCOM that DQE has signed a large co-production deal with Classic Media, USA and MoonScoop, France to produce 26×26′ hi-end 3D series, the famous ‘CASPER the Friendly Ghost’. DQE further signed a co-production deal involving GO N Production and TF-1, France, Indie Kids and BBC, UK and Lux Animation for 26 episodes of famous pre-school property ‘LARGE FAMILY’ to be produced in Classical 2D Animation.
DQE signed another co-production contract for LITTLE LEONARDO 26 episodes hi-end 2D series to be produced with RAI Fiction, Italy while also got clearance to produce third season of AND YET IT MOVES, a 2D & Live Action combination series and PET PALS, 3rd season 2D series for RAI.
DQE and Method Films finalized IRON MAN: 26×26′ 3D series in co-production with Marvel Comics, USA and in one stroke completed the agreement for 2 more TV series in 3D Animation- TENSHI : 26×22′ and MIKIDO: 26×26′.
In Flash animation, DQE has got second season of TODD WORLD TV series from Discovery Kids while 52×11′ SANDRA coproduction deal was also signed with ICON.
