Color Chips (India) Ltd has signed a 2D animation co-production agreement with BKN International, USA.
The project, titled “Triple Threat,” is a 26 half-hour episode TV series. The total value of the deal is $2.5 million.
As part of the deal, the company also acquires distribution, merchandising, licensing and other rights in perpetuity for the show “Triple Threat”, for the Indian Subcontinent and a 5-year period rights for certain other properties owned by BKN.
Color Chips will provide animation services from layout to rushes including key animation cleanup, IB and digital ink and paint.
Recently, BKN New Media signed a $10 million animation outsourcing deal with Mumbai-based UTV. Under this agreement, UTV Toonz, the animation division of UTV, would produce animation content for International Toon House BKN over a 3-4 year period.
BKN and its subsidiaries are engaged in the production, distribution and marketing of children’s animated television programmes. The company is also engaged in the merchandising and licensing of the rights of those programmes. The parent company is located in Cologone, Germany, with Company headquarters, BKN New Media Ltd in London and a US outfit BKN New Media Inc.
