Silicon Graphics recently launched its Prism Family of High performance visual computing solutions based on Linux in India. The product is targeted at a wide range of markets which use advanced visualisation one example being the automotive industry wherein applications such as car crash analysis involve huge amounts of data.
Within the Post Production , VFX and animation space a lot of the high end online editing and FX suites use SGI Technology. A release issued by the company states,”Scaling from One to 16 graphics pipelines and from one to 256 processors, the SGI prism family offers many times the visualisation capacity of any currently available computing system”
