Leading Indian media conglomerate Adlabs Films Ltd and Kid’s apparel giant Gini & Jony have joined hands to produce an animated feature film based on the characters, “Gini & Jony”

Talking in detail about the project with Animation Xpress.com, Adlabs Animation Head Siddhartha M Jain elaborated, �Gini & Jony is going to be a landmark film in Indian animation. It is an action adventure film with a very well defined TG of 4-14 urban kids and can crossover very smoothly across the world. We are currently in the development stage of this project and plan to start full scale production in the next few months�
�One of the most interesting things about G&J is that it is a huge brand with a retail network that means huge merchandising potential. They have 400+ dealers and are adding stores every month. Huge scope for in store promotions and retail sales for Merchandise and home video� he added.
Commenting on the Adlabs Animation business model, Jain said �The advantage we have in this space is that we have not invested in infrastructure or don’t have to manage operations and artists. We can select the best brands, licenses, story ideas and projects and invest our resource in developing them, while we pick and choose the most suited production partners from across the world�
“Plus we don’t have to wait for one project to get over to be able to start another project”, he added.
A few months ago Adlabs had announced a 3D animated feature film �Superstar� with the lead character based on the likeness of actor Rajinikanth. This project is currently in development and will be ready for release in 2008.
