Sony Plaza accquires Japan rights for Suzy’s Zoo

nullLos Angeles based Earthworks Entertainment has announced that Sony Plaza Company Ltd., the Japan based retail sales division of the Sony Group, has acquired the rights for, and will distribute licensed products of, the acclaimed SUZY’S ZOO brand in all major merchandise categories through its group of over 100 retail stores throughout Japan.

The announcement was made by Earthworks Entertainment Head of Global Licensing & Marketing Cathy Malatesta.

The official company release quotes Malatesta saying The extraordinarily popular SUZY’S ZOO line has over 200 whimsical characters and accounts for over 100 million dollars in annual sales in the USA in categories ranging from apparel to toys to greeting cards. The Sony Plaza distribution deal for the world’s dominant international market signifies the initial success of Earthworks Entertainment’s efforts to aggressively position SUZY’S ZOO in the global marketplace

Sony Plaza Stores will also act as the master licensor for the territory of Japan. In this capacity, Sony Plaza Stores will market the SUZY’S ZOO brand in the mass market, as well as specialty stores, countrywide.
