‘No Man’s Sky’ ushers in an extensive Day 1 update and it can potentially change the game

While there are some amazing games coming this August, Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky is possibly one of the most anticipated games of not only this month but also one of the most celebrated games of the year.
No Man’s Sky
is an action-adventure based survival game which plays out on the backdrop of the whole universe, a player can explore countless galaxies and planets. With countless planets to explore (why countless? Because even the developers had said that they had no idea of how many planets are there), the players will be in for a surreal out-worldly experience.

With the news of leaked copies and a player already reaching the centre of the galaxy in mere 30 hours of play have been doing rounds over the internet, developer Hello Games decided to kick the game up a notch.

Now, the company has released an update so enormous that it can potentially change whatever the reviewers or the players have experienced so far. Hello Games, founder, Sean Murray wrote a post on the game’s website describing the changes.

Some of the new changes include update to the universe generating algorithm which will result into 10 times bigger galaxies, the planets will have a wider diversity of creatures and there would be special food for them, feeding which will earn their assistance, there would be three unique ‘paths’ to choose from, one of which has been completely rewritten and the overall game would be receiving some visual polishing.

Sony had said that it was keeping the review copies still in bounds because of this patch which almost brings a complete overhaul to the game. The patch rolls in today and the servers of the game would be wiped, thus making any player already playing lose all the progress.

Announced three years ago, No Man’s Sky has been in the spotlight since then and its release had been postponed many a times. For now the release date for PC (Steam on Windows) is 12 August and it will release over PS4 on 9 August in North America, 10 August in Europe and 12 August in the UK.
