BIG Ganga, the known regional entertainment channel of Bihar and Jharkhand has launched a dedicated one hour time band of animated movies and series in Bhojpuri, a first for the region. The content has reportedly been hand picked especially for kids. Thus, during their summer vacation, children might be able to watch animation series such as ‘Vikram aur Munja’, ‘Stories of Tenalirama’ and animation movies such as ‘Little Krishna’, ‘Bal Ganesha’, all of it in Bhojpuri.
Started this Monday, 25 April, the animation band ‘Chhutiyon Ki Churchuri’ is on a mission to engage kids in hearty programs. The content will air for one hour, every Monday to Sunday at 4 pm. The channel has planned to engage with viewers and trade partners locally and nationally through multiple platforms as a part of their promotion.
BIG Ganga is distributed across all cable operators across the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh and spread across the likes of DEN, Digicable, WWIL, Hathway, Darsh and Maurya amongst others and DTH players like Airtel, Dish, Reliance Digital, DD Direct and Videocon.
This can be seen as a progressive move, as animation features are reaching out to a much varied audience. The language medium being regional, the show will connect more to the children who can watch the shows regularly during their summer vacations.
It’s heart warming to see that slowly the Indian entertainment channels are taking a liking for animation content with Colors Chhoti Anandi show that used to air on Sunday at 10 am and now BIG Ganga starting the one hour animated content slot. We hope more channels start taking animated content seriously and we get to witness more shows on leading GECs.
