DC Bombshells #2 narrates the story of Wonder Woman

Recently DC Comics launched a whole new comic series on 12 August that revolves around the story behind the alternate reality where the Second World War is fought by superpowered women on the front lines and behind the scenes. It all begins with the stories of Batwoman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl. This new lineup named as DC Bombshells has quickly become of the most pleasant surprises from the DC Universe.

The first issue which had 40 pages talked of the story behind Kate Kane, aka Batwoman. The story showcased Kate’s life before she got recruited by Amanda Waller for an as-of-yet undetermined assignment. The second issue goes all the way back to the beginning of Wonder Woman’s first appearance in comic books as an Amazonian living on Themyscira with her mother and sisters with no men present there. However, when World War II brings war to the island via planes equipped with bombs and bullets, Steve Trevor, the first man to ever step foot on Themyscira, crash lands there.

The first issue teamed writer Marguerite Bennett with artist Marguerite Sauvage for an exciting start to the series but Sauvage stepped away from the second issue and Bennett along with Stephen Mooney, Bilquis Evely and Ant Lucia made the comic visually appealing. Laura Braga joins Bennett to complete Wonder Woman’s origin, partnering Diana with the aquatic heroine Mera to protect Paradise Island from the evil forces gathering outside its borders and Braga’s clean, bright style brings strong energy to these preview pages from this week’s DC Bombshells #2.

The comic launches on 2 September 2015.dc bombshells1 dc bombshells2
