‘Peppa Pig’ travels to China via CCTV 14

Entertainment One Licensing has cut a deal with national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) that will bring the hit preschool series Peppa Pig to the country’s CCTV 14 Kids channel. The show will debut there on 23 June, with Peppa Pig content also set to launch on leading video on demand platforms. eOne is working closely with CCTV to develop content for the Chinese market, including an official Peppa Pig website and a range of online promotions in support of the show’s national launch.

Further, PPW has been appointed as the brand’s licensing agent in China. With the first partners already signed, PPW is responsible for developing a comprehensive consumer products program for Peppa Pig across all categories. King Bee is on board as master toy licensee in the territory and Penguin China will handle publishing, producing bilingual and local language products in a variety of formats. First lines will launch at retail next month.
