The wait is over! Monoke franchise is planning to launch new film in 2023.
According to a recent live broadcast by Monoke team, the franchise is returning in 2023 with a brand new project. The movie will be a new act with Kenji Nakamura returning to the live action movie. The anime will be produced by Twin Engine and Takahiro Sakurai has confirmed his return as a seller of the anime.
Apart from the movie, the franchise is also developing a play for the series and another art project is in development. A series of 12 artists have been recruited to draw ink-inspired artwork Mononoke celebrating her birthday. Fans are excited to see the creators who will be joining in the celebration.
According to CBR reports, the anime follows an unknown medical salesman who travels across distant Japan and encounters all kinds of supernatural creatures.
Monoke The series started under Toei Animation as a spin-off from Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales. After ending in 2007, Mononoke carried on with a manga that last released new content in 2014.
