Your wait is over!
This year, the 9th Edition of Anifest India by the Animation Society of India [TASI] is set for 23-24 August at Mumbai and as always this Anifest season is gearing up to take the audiences through a happening ride of sessions on animation, vfx, gaming and more.
And, for those of you who believe that your movie has potential of being lauded and winning accolades at this festival, are welcome to submit their entries for TASI Viewers Choice Awards. The divisions in which you can send your entries are Student Films, Independent Professional Short Films and Commissioned Films. But, you need to hurry up as the deadline is the 15th of this month.
Past years of Anifest India have noticed large numbers of aspirants including animators, students, teachers, enthusiasts asking interesting queries.
So what does this Anifest season offer the attendees, we hear this from Vaibhav Kumaresh, Committee Member, TASI and he shares with AnimationXpress.com’s Zeenia Boatwala by saying, “Like every year, this year too we have a great mix of presentations, behind the scenes, workshops, panel discussions and film screenings.”
There are absolutely no limits to creativity! And TVCA proves this as it gives you an opportunity to send across your films that can circle around all mediums and genres of animation. When asked Vaibhav to reveal a secret ingredient that can make someone win, he says, “A Brilliant and winning film is always composed with great storytelling, design and production quality.”
So why is TVCA one of the most happening aspects of Anifest India? Vaibhav asserts, “The TASI Viewers Choice Awards (TVCA) has no doubt been one of the highlights of the fest. I guess it’s the only platform we have where the audience decides the winner. Its sheer goose bumps for any film maker to sit among the crowd at Anifest India and witness his/ her film being screened. Generous contributions from TASI and other festival supporters make the awards kitty extremely precious! My studio (being the collection centre) is witnessing a steady flow of packages from all over the world.”
A special punch that makes this Anifest edition noteworthy is a live mega workshop by prominent artists and Vaibhav unveils more on this, “The main aim is to encourage the audience to ‘perceive’, ‘observe’ and ‘express’ in their own unique ways.”
